At present, approximately 50% of the piadina produced is sent outside Romagna and sales channels
have been opened with the US, UK and France. Since it’s a classic Italian product, the American market
is very receptive and the first 15 sales outlets, located in Brooklyn, New York and Manhattan, confirm
there’s an exceptional amount of interest.
Orders continue to increase from France, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Sweden,
as well as from Melbourne in Australia and Montreal in Canada.
Trade experts say they’re certain that in five or six years the piadina business will be a phenomenon
comparable with pizzas.
